Baffousam
Bafoussam is a city in the highlands of western Cameroon. It’s a center for Bamiléké tribal culture and traditional crafts such as woodcarving. The city features a chief’s palace compound, or chefferie. The chefferie in Bandjoun, to the south, has well-preserved Bamiléké architecture. To the northeast, Foumban has a royal palace, and masks and jewelry at the Museum of Bamoun Arts and Traditions.

Douala is a coastal city in southwest Cameroon. Inland from the Wouri River, La Pagode, or the Palace of the Kings Bell, dates from the German colonial period. Nearby, the Doual’art gallery exhibits art from Cameroon and across Africa. The Douala Maritime Museum explores the city’s history as a center of colonial trade and fishing. South of the city, Douala-Edéa Wildlife Reserve is home to elephants and crocodiles.

Kribi
Kribi is a resort town and port in the South Province of Cameroon. It's known for its sandy beaches. At the mouth of the Kineke River, Kribi lighthouse was built in 1906 by German colonizers and is still in use today. To the south, Tara Plage is a beach with strong Atlantic surf. Nearby, the Chutes de la Lobé waterfall plunges directly into the sea. From the falls, boats run upriver to Bagyeli native settlements.

Limbe
Limbe is a beach town in western Cameroon. It's known for its black sand beaches and Atlantic surf. Limbe Botanic Garden has a herbarium and diverse plant species. The Limbe Wildlife Centre rescues and rehabilitates primates, such as lowland gorillas. Mount Cameroon National Park protects endangered mammals, including forest elephants. Within the park, Mount Cameroon is an active volcano with trails to the summit.

Yaounde
Yaoundé, spread over 7 hills, is the capital city of Cameroon. It is in the southern part of the country. The 20th-century Notre Dame des Victoires cathedral has a striking triangular roof. Nearby, in the Lake Quarter, the former presidential palace is home to the National Museum, with cultural exhibits such as masks and sculptures. Farther west, Mvog-Betsi Zoo is home to primates rescued from the bushmeat trade.
